A picture from the day I almost died laughing on a volcano. Literally, an intern & I almost died from laughing. We went to the summit at 14,000 ft to watch the sunset but forgot jackets. In one of the top 5 stupidest ideas in history, we thought we could go jogging to warm up...
/ Here's the intern. Of course, when we began jogging we immediately lost our breath from the thin air & lack of oxygen. We were breathing so hard we were getting colder and colder, but we couldn't stop hyperventilating. Then we realized how stupid it was...
/ Because we were already light-headed & dizzy from low oxygen we thought our stupidity was hilariously funny. We started laughing and COULD NOT STOP. The more we laughed, the more we lost our breath, the harder we gasped for air, the colder we got, & the harder we laughed...
/ Eventually we were both on our hands and knees facing each other laughing like it was the funniest thing in the world, trying to say between laughing that we were going to die of hypothermia if we couldn't stop, which made it seem even funnier. It went on and on...
/ Eventually we got scared enough that it was less funny and we got ourselves under control and stopped laughing. Other than that, the sunset was beautiful. Pro tip: take a jacket.😅
