An organic farmer in Beed district of Maharashtra who conserves native variety of seeds has just sold 100 quintal of Tur dal seeds to Telangana farmers at 60K. He doesn't take sugarcane crop as it erodes quality of soil. Prefers pulses/oilseeds/local diet.
He has decided to start seed bank of native variety which he claims r more tasty, nutrient n resistant to climate change. Slowly a movement for native seeds building up among farmers in different states.
One correction he sold 5 quintals at Rs 60K/quintal.
