I don't intend to attack @davidfrum, so quick, ask any man what they think childcare costs in their city or town.

And if they know (b/c their kids are in it), ask them if they can name all the workers at that daycare.
@davidfrum In SF, daycare costs ~$500 a week. Average nanny is more like $700 a week. And do those "averages" account for a full 8 hours + commute time for working parents? Probably not. mother.ly/news/daycare-i…
@davidfrum This is why we need more women in office up and down every ticket. Will they all be pro-choice? No. But will they be far more versed in the economic realities facing women? Yes.

Can’t tell whether is is a Cooper’s hawk or its “smaller look alike relative” the sharp-shinned hawk.

And calm down people, this is the circle of life. Hawks need to eat too.
The hawks occasionally pick off a bird, usually a dove. And they allow me to indulge in the fantasy that it’s only one or two mice or rats that also bat cleanup under the feeder.

What are the odds that none of the men, or their sons, who voted for this appalling Alabama bill ever got a woman pregnant and paid for their abortion? 1%?
Zero chance Trump never got a woman who was not his wife pregnant, though a very good chance he never paid. Pressured Marla to have one.
Also zero chance that none of the women who voted for this or the wives and daughters of the men who did so aren’t victims of rape or incest.

1/ I set some personal ecological goals this past year, here’s how I’m doing...
2/ so frustrated with all the trash in SF and on the beaches, I pledged to do more than just complain #onhere and to @SF311. So do a bimonthly pickup of a few blocks, at least once a month beach clean/hike, adopted 10 storm drains. Can feel Sisyphean but maybe 60% accomplished?
3/ pledged to turn backyard into bird and pollinator zone. Birds, mission accomplished (though hope they take to my bird houses). Pollinators, maybe 40%? Just planted a ton. Need butterfly puddler, insect/bee habitat hotels.
