Been thinking about trans & LGBT & human rights solidarity in UK. When @gmcuk shut down the only affirmative care for trans adolescents, whilst psychologists who don't believe trans kids exist are still in NHS GIDS, why is there no outcry? Silence or business as usual. What?

@gmcuk With no other service now in the UK, our kids are forced to see GIDS staff, some of whom are deeply harmful to our kids. Why do so few trans and LGBT organisations stand up for trans kids?

@gmcuk And I know some people will respond with 'questions' about Gender GP. But the @gmcuk keeps closing people down without ever outlining what route to provision of affirmative care for trans adolescents they would support

@gmcuk If they cared at all, they would not just shut things down, but would outline a pathway to care, being clear, what specific qualification, what specific registration, which steps are needed for a service to provide affirmative care for trans youth

@gmcuk How can we ever hope to have any medical professional step in to this gap when the @gmcuk makes it impossible?

@gmcuk It feels like @gmcuk are blocking any affirmative care for trans adolescents. Feels like they are blocking any care not led by psychoanalysts. This is not evidence based.

@gmcuk Affirmative care is standard in many countries, and other teens are not forced to see psychoanalysts for this care.

@gmcuk Why are trans and LGBT and health rights and children's rights organisations not holding the NHS to account for institutional transphobia and derilection of care? Do they not care about trans kids? Feels like that from where I am sitting
