One week has passed & I’m still disappointed in the #GOT finale but that doesn’t mean I didn’t love & appreciate the journey 🗺 📺

Think of it this way; much like a breakup...While it’s fresh, you may feel disappointed, surprised, angry, betrayed, hurt, sad. Mourning the loss is normal. Evenings (around 9 p.m. ET) are the most difficult, for the night is dark and full of terrors

You may wish to seek revenge, adding your ex’s name to a list of others who’ve done you wrong, make plans to flay or neuter them, burn their house down, even💀

All’s fair since now you have to make new plans on Sundays, you didn’t get custody of the d̶i̶r̶e̶w̶o̶l̶f̶ dog, perhaps you had traveled a long way from home 🚣‍♀️, separating yourself from your family for the d̶e̶s̶t̶i̶n̶y̶ relationship you believed in

You probably spent a lot of coin, too. Exes rarely pay their damn debts💰

Ok back!

You may have sacrificed life (RIP Shireen) and limb 👋 to make it work. These aren’t healthy behaviors, but we don’t choose whom we love

You may come to realize some sat by, spectating, using your naïveté against you, rooting for the fall they could prevent, pretending they didn’t always have a plan to swoop in like an emotionless, loyalty-lacking raven, stealing the nest you built w/ barely a thank you #bransucks

Regardless, deep down we always knew w̶i̶n̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶c̶o̶m̶i̶n̶g̶ the end was coming...And Lord-of💡- knows we couldn’t handle another wedding🔪 ☠️

And yet, we may be tempted to spend too much time reminiscing about how it felt to be on top of the tower of joy, before that joy turned to ashes in our mouth, only able to view our memories through 🌹-colored glasses

💋The hot sex in tents, in the woods, a secluded cave, on top of maps, post archery practice, in forbidden spaces, in brothels, in castles, etc

The exotic lands visited, magic witnessed, hot pies eaten, wine drunken, endless summers spent at the beach or in high gardens, the birth of new dreams, ideas, (& 🐉). Battles fought, mutual enemies slain, & bad inside jokes shared
Tee hee ☺️

We’ll still fantasize about the kingdom we planned to build together, equal partners, us against the world...🤴👸

Maybe some offspring 👧 👶
Maybe not

Ultimately proving to the realms of men that true love, great character development, and epic storytelling can be summarized & perfectly complete in our nearly decade-long, on and off again, seasonal relationship... #73Hours

Instead we’ll hound our friends for wisdom, analyze layers of the onion, pray to the mother, or bargain w/ the Gods old & new. We’ll see symbolism where there isn’t, try to create substance from nothing. We’ll beg for just a few more hrs of ignorant bliss before the burn sets in

We’ll stick 💉 with denial of all the foreshadowing that point-yend-ed to our inevitable m̶u̶r̶d̶e̶r̶ break-up

We’ll forget about the unrealistic expectations, dark battles, illogical strategy, stone hearts, cold hands, trust issues, sexual violence, unforgivable abandonment (❤️ you 4ever, 👻🐺), missing babies, time travel, scary patterns, & the shame shame shame of misplaced coffee cups

🕷 We’ll whisper about their new life (#starwarsbetterbegood). We’ll make excuses. We’ll drink and think we know things. We’ll concoct wild 🔥 fantasies of reconciliation and forgiveness...Or revenge.

As reality sinks in, we may now feel it’s just us against the world. Alone. 🌎 🗡

Though it’s not the first time we’ve had to defend ourselves (👋hi, non-watching haters... Show’s over, nothing to see here). 😁

Among the chaos, we must find a ladder. We’ll still drink, but realize now that we know nothing. We’ll climb out of our despair and better our station. We’ll set goals.

We’ll slay the metaphorical giant that is our own insecurity #lyannamormontgiantsbane

It may be a long journey, but we must go beyond our walls, put on a new face, maybe ditch the old chains or choker, and shed our little bird persona. We must break the wheel and embrace that there is life west of Westeros

It’s not that we’ll ever forget what we are, in fact, we’ll wear it like armor...Just that we no longer need to hold the door to our past #riphodor 😢

Practicing self-work may not be as exciting as secret passion in the woods, but it is stronger. It lasts longer. It is known 👩‍🦰🥌🖤

So don’t lose your head just yet. We march to victory, or we march to defeat, but we go forward. Only forward 🚶🏿‍♀️🚶🏼‍♂️🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏾‍♂️

Eventually new problems will dwarf our current ones and we’ll no longer be paralyzed or haunted by what could have been

We will come back to life with scars as souvenirs, hotter than ever. With no need for the likes of a Night King or an Ice Queen 🥶🤴🥶👸

Reborn as someone with the confidence and pirate-like swagger of an adult who just learned to read & now corrects others’ grammar #bestlongestrunningjoke

And the experience/wisdom to recognize who has a better story than our own

The past will be the past, the future is all that is worth discussing. A new hope on the horizon...

We may find our way back to our first love or to a love we never noticed who was always waiting on the shelf

We may enjoy & ultimately prefer the rewrite of what we thought was to be our ending. Perhaps we find comfort in their words (and white beard) 📚 🎅🏻

Maybe we accept that while we had something sparkly and thrilling for a time, we had to be patient. Be tested. Prove that we’re worthy #likewewerewiththeentirereekstoryline

So that when our true love arrives, we not only recognize them, we appreciate them 😍 #soromantic

🌝 We’ll finally have the moon of our life, our sun and stars. We’ll be theirs and they will be ours. Our story will extend much farther than some imagined and be even better than the one we let go of ✨

Alas, if you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention. Our true love won’t last forever...Nothing ever does

So yes, our watch has ended, #TheLastWatch ...for now. And yes, eventually I’ll feel only grateful for the magic & mayhem that was @GameOfThrones on @HBO & look back ever so fondly, watching again from the start
