Let me get this straight. The far right has stacked the courts and will control them for a decade. They control the Senate and the White House. And they believe that if they lose the 2020 election they will be put into gulags?

Seriously though. Read this thread...he's voicing an opinion that has become fairly widespread on the right, the opinion that the next election is not just any old election, but an election that could spell the end of America itself if the Dems win.
This is one of the negative consequences of the Trumpian take over of the GOP and conservatism more broadly. It's come to adopt his manichean, "you're a winner or a total loser" mentality.
The culture war used to be rhetorical fluff used by plutocrats to gin up votes for tax cuts. Now people are talking about it in earnest...and framing it as an apocalyptic fight to the death.
Like, if a school puts in a gender neutral bathroom or if a transwoman holds a story hour at the public library Satan himself will come to earth and eradicate all that is good and true. Talk about snowflakes.
When those on the left express dismay about children in cages, Muslim bans, obstruction of justice, oil lobbyists running the EPA, the suppression of climate science, etc....it's people like this guy who say "take a chill pill, you're just being hysterical."
So we have pro-life folks who love children, yet who are utterly unconcerned about how climate change will negatively impact those kids' lives. And we have defenders of "Western Civilization" and the Enlightenment who reject the determinations of 99% of climate scientists. Hmmm.
I'm starting to think that intellectual consistency and rigor is not really what this whole "conservative movement" thing is about.
