Now that everyone has finally slept -- a big thank you to @OsloFF @HRF for including me in the Oslo Freedom Forum this year.

This was the most intellectually, geographically, culturally diverse event I have ever been to--huge range of expertise & experience all mixed together /1

Had so many great convos, met so many brave frontline activists and artists -- and many, many incredible women, which definitely gave me new energy.

It was really good to get out of the usual micro-bubble and remember the big fight -- and what the cost of losing that is. /2

@Kasparov63 & I discussed a brief part of this, & so many others spoke of how data, tech, algorithms, information control, surveillance impact their daily fight against tyranny & oppression -- I can only hope the big tech reps there listened. Because they felt pretty far away. /3

Can individual freedom win agst seductive promises of data-driven social/ behavioral engineering models? Can there be balance between freedom & governance in a way that will make techno-libertarianism/Crypto-anarchism seem less "cool"? We're just at beginning of this struggle. /4

But somehow I get the sense @OsloFF will continue to be way ahead in pioneering ways for us to have these discussions. /5
