Very good and enraging Daily episode on how PREP could have wiped out HIV by now, and hasn't because the government has let the drug manufacturer @GileadSciences keep prices so high even though TAXPAYERS paid for the research to find this usage: nytimes.com/2019/06/05/pod…
@GileadSciences Now @GileadSciences is giving doses away, but that's just to extend it's patent AND get a ginormous tax break for a drug it costs pennies to make.

@GileadSciences @AOC Anyway the upshot of this piece is that lawmakers would likely bring the hammer down on @GileadSciences were it not for the fact that it's mostly poor southern men of color who remain the most affected.
