To everyone that has been demonetised I'll give you the rundown.

You have either had monetisation taken away completely, or you still have it, just all of your videos have been demonetised and no matter what you upload, it stays demonetised after review. I'm the latter.

As a result, the amount of subs and views you usually get will dip, since the youtube algorithm favours mainly sharing monetised content so youtube earns more money, since your content doesn't make youtube money anymore, it won't get shared as much, or at all.

When you upload not all your subscibers get notified, it helps to tweet it out or share it when you upload. Even though people subscribing to you means they want to get notified when you upload and watch your content, youtube doesn't feel the same way, and doesn't tell them all.

You can start a Patreon or Subscribestar to supplement your income, I personally recommend subscribestar because it works just as well as Patreon and they aren't censorious, like Patreon.

Make a video to tell people what has happened, ask them to click the bell (even though that STILL doesn't notify everyone) like, share etc etc.

Since the algorithm doesn't care about your peasant arse anymore, all of your metrics (watch time, etc) will drop.

My demonetisation came about because a journalist lied about me, I contacted youtube and basically had to prove a negative, which I successfully managed somehow, despite the evidence, youtubes response was essentially "we dont care".

So you can try contacting youtube, they just most likely will not do anything, no matter how much evidence you provide to prove that you are in the right.

Believe it or not, there are pros to this. It isn't all bad.

You can be edgier, swear more, and believe it or not it gives you more freedom, I found myself walking the line and speaking cleaner a lot more when there was a risk of losing money, now that that's gone, I don't give a fuck and say what I like. You get more freedom.

"A copyright claim was created for your video, 100% of revenue is now going to copyright owner"

Now irrelevant, you weren't making money anyway, and 100% of zero is still zero.

You will get the usual schadenfreude from the screechers, they're just buttmad that despite this, we are still here.
