Y'all aren't going to believe this... @laurenthehough--who you all know and love--has been suspended from Twitter for calling someone a "Karen". She reached out to me this morning and asked to post these screenshots.
She was responding to this unsolicited tweet. This person then reported @laurenthehough because Lauren called her "Karen". Really.
Lauren tells me that she's been given no time frame for this suspension. She was simply notified by @Twitter that her account is now locked. No apparent route for appeal on this.
And I had assumed the reporting account was a woman, but Lauren was being droll with the "Karen" reply. It looks like @exverum reported her. This account has been quite angry over the Crowder/YouTube/anti-LGBTQ fiasco and appears to be reporting liberal and queer accounts.

Sweetie, when our country was attacked, you sat on your ass and did nothing. You were an able-bodied young person, and you did jack shit. Tens of thousands of LGBTQ people, myself included, joined up and served despite much of our country hating us. Where the hell were you, Ben?
Shout-out to @BenShapiro who hates LGBTQ people but is strangely silent when it comes to us dying for our country in a uniform he never had the courage to put on.
It amazes me that @BenShapiro has only ever been a private school dilettante who needs other people to do his fighting for him but has the gall to lecture others on patriotism. You're a coward, Ben. Go sit down and don't interrupt the adults when we're talking.

Good movie, tho.
Vivian Leigh is far more interesting as a serial adulterer at Oxford than a childish white supremacist in the South.

Today, on foreign soil, Donald Trump continued to peddle outright lies about transgender service members in attempt to rationalize his cruel, discriminatory, and unnecessary ban on trans people in the military. So, let's get a few things abundantly clear... (thread)
The RAND Institute was asked by the Defense Department to study this and found that medical care for trans service members would make up a fraction of a percent of the overall health care budget for the military, between $2.4 and $8.4 million annually. rand.org/pubs/research_…
A report by USA Today released in February found the total cost over the last three years--before the ban went into effect--was $8 million. From June 30, 2016 to Feb 1, 2019, that would put the cost at $3.1 million annually. usatoday.com/story/news/pol…

Twitter seems to be banning or suspending accounts belonging to critics of the Chinese government. It started yesterday May 31th. Here is one report - I noticed a sudden loss of followers yesterday, I checked, it was mainly China critics. Twitter❤️🇨🇳 Amazing! @mouse @1GigiSims
This is happening as an effort to silence #China critics ahead of the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, which is next Tuesday. Twitter is helping China do its dirty work to silence the legitimate opposition. Twitter has hit a new all time low! 👎👎👎
One other possibility that can't be discounted is that the #Chinese government is hacking into Twitter and is deleting the accounts of Chinese critics. I did hear reports in the past, that Chinese hackers were able to get into Twitter & do that.
