California, by all rights, should be the best place in the world to live.
Beautiful weather. Absurdly large economy. Contains the focal point of the highest-growth industry in the world.
But it sucks.

And it doesn't just suck in the ways that any highly-populated area sucks.
You'd think in one of the wealthiest cities that has EVER EXISTED they could solve the problem of public defecation.
Or that typhus epidemics wouldn't be breaking out.
But no.

And yet, nothing can be done.
Democrats have a permanent, durable majority. Their corrupt machines run Sacramento, San Francisco, and LA. And there's nothing you can do about it.

But - shockingly - immigration radically changed the composition of the California electorate, and now Republicans are SOL in the wealthiest state in our union.
This is, as Kurt points out, exactly what Democrats want to happen to the rest of the country.

I've noticed that there are disproportionately more "wartime conservatives" from California. Kurt. @pnjaban. The @ClaremontInst folks. Stephen Miller. Etc.
The peacetime types don't seem to grasp what's at stake. And why would they? DC is doing great!

DC is getting safer and more gentrified every year.
25 years ago, Chinatown/Mt. Vernon was a horrible part of town.
Now it has the most foot-traffic of any area in the city.
And new neighborhoods keep popping up - The Wharf, Navy Yard, Noma, etc.
What could be wrong?

Californians know better. They know what's at stake.
Durable governance by Democrat machines will turn your city nto an open sewer.
A national, durable Democrat majority will turn the country into an open sewer.
