In honor of the the D's #minibus surrender & NARA decision allowing destruction of documents about abuse in ICE detention centers, #FOIA documents we recently received for a single detention center -- currently the deadliest in America -- in Stewart County, Georgia. 1/
2/ A man calls to report suffering a neck injury at the hands of a detention officer and then not receiving proper medical care.
3/ An allegedly 2-year campaign of discrimination and harassment that includes retaliatory solitary confinement, denial of access to mail, and a failure of ICE to respond to prior complaints

Another human caged by ICE appears to have ended his life while in solitary confinement at a for-profit migrant prison, this time in Louisiana.

This would be the second known in-custody death of the fiscal year, with more than two dozen occurring since the regime took power.
Worth noting that the existence of this facility for ICE imprisonment itself is in direct violation of the appropriations authority Congress gave to ICE when it funded detention operations.…
It’s worth asking ourselves what to call prison camps we send people to where they’ve committed no crime, received no due process, and have not been shown to present a flight risk, knowing some number of them will die, and thousands more will suffer

4 lives over.

Today’s so hard for so many who’ve been screaming at the top of their lungs, lifting up well-documented, unrebutted, damning first-person accounts of the inhumanity of for-profit migrant imprisonment inside ICE’s Stewart facility in Lumpkin, Georgia.
If they’d listened to voices, processed them respectfully, and done their own discernment, the inescapable conclusion would be that Stewart is no place fit for human beings. Not yesterday, not today. Not ever.

Officials and execs see the same docs we’ve gotten and sat silent.
Unless Stewart is closed, more will suffer. More will give up. And more will die.

Rest in Power, Pedro, Efrain, Yulio, and Jean.

Here's the Significant Incident Report (SIR) ICE officials drafted and send to HQ about the memorials seeking #JusticeforJean:

And here's ICE officials sharing a screenshot of a web portal demonstrating that, despite at least a half-dozen supervisors responding to questions from ICE HQ about Jean's mental health status, his segregation logs DO NOT note his MH diagnoses or his prior suicide attempts.

Absolutely devastating testimony so far regarding conditions in #CoreCivic’s Eloy immigrant prison. /1
2/ A woman imprisoned in Eloy was 7 months pregnant and losing weight. Officials said she was offered a high-protein diet. It turned out to be an extra piece of bread with cheese.
3/ Next witness, a grandmother who traveled to Dilley, Antelope Wells, Homestead, and Tornillo with groups of concerned citizens, including @TornilloWitness, describes conditions as reminding her of Ethiopian detention camps in the 1980s. Reading letter from watchdog Josh Rubin.
