Bermondsey Street v Blaneau Gwent, a thread
@ONS data shows places in England and Wales where households earn over £60,000 before tax, from Pay As You Earn income and benefits - excluding self-assessed income. Limited dataset but a fascinating one..

Four of the five top LSOA areas are around Bermondsey Street just east of London Bridge.
Look up areas by Googling "Doogal Southwark 003K" (for eg). This website is great but not very searchable: doogle.co.uk
What about the areas with the lowest proportion? Well that's harder to answer because the figure is *0.0%* of households for a huge *one in ten LSOAs*. (That doesn't mean literally no households earn £60k+, it's rounded down, and obvs some will be self-assessment.)
Where are these areas - where one in ten people in England and Wales live? They're spread all over. Lots in Wales. Deprived Northern towns. But also big cities - loads in Hull, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester. A lot in inner London, even a few in Oxford, Havant, Bath...

This is a patchy dataset so use it with caution - it doesn't include self-assessed income. What it does tell us is that for most people in England and Wales, a tiny proportion of their neighbours have a PAYE household income of £60k+. Caveats again:
