All of Yezidi tolerance and “sarve bhavantu sukhinah”, what Indians call “secularism”, didn’t save them from repeated genocidal campaigns as a minority in Islamic lands.
Demographics matter. When will Hindus wake up.
The Muslim neighbors of the Yezidi helped to identify them to be raped and killed by foreign #ISIS fighters. Yes, the same neighbors who had “nice” commercial exchange with them.

A “chowkidar” who is advocating genocide by #ISIS? This has nothing to do with “ritualism”, it is kaffir existence which is a problem.

While Hindu schools are destroyed using RTE.
Isn’t it the job of the govt to provide a level playing field rather than favor one religion over the other?

No, I do not recommend closing Christian sectarian schools. But govt must stop blatant discrimination on false pretexts of majority-minority.

Also sectarian schools should *not* be funded by govt or given land grants. Expired leases should be recalled.

Make no mistake - the #ISIS problem is a long, long way from going away, in both #Syria & #Iraq.

Raids, ambushes, assassinations, IEDs, kidnappings, extortion/intimidation etc. It’s all continuing, while everyone proclaims “victory” and the fight [near] “over."
#ISIS is back to bombings, assassinations, kidnappings across #Diyala, #Kirkuk & Salah ad Din - in scenes eerily reminiscent of 2011-2014.

This has been building for weeks, but thanks @LizSly for bringing more attention - the fight is **far** from over.

(THREAD) 1. MEET Estela and Nicolas. Today they got married. For anyone else this would be just a picture of a normal wedding day, but for these two, there is much more than meets the eye. For them, this is a story of the triumph of love and hope.
2. 3 weeks ago I was approached by someone at my parish.
-“Father, there is a couple who wants to get married.”
-“I am glad to hear that. Tell them to call me & we will set up a meeting.”
-“Well” she said, “this is the thing. They are in the hospital. Could you come please?”
3. I went to visit them, only to find out that Estela, a beautiful 26 year old woman, had cancer that spread all over her body. Doctors give her a limited time of life. I saw her husband to be, by her side, with a sad smile in his eyes, asking me for hope and a miracle.
