Biden seems to be laboring under misconception that GOP was not brutally obstructionist under Obama, not racist, not an obstacle to blocking the Russians, not corrupt, not trying to rewire the judiciary, not promoting inequality, not the party of torture & invasion under Bush.
He has forgotten the Tea Party, birtherism, Merrick Garland, Iraq, the effort to gut and kill the ACA, the efforts to cut regulations on big banks and fossil fuel companies...and the fact that they chose and have stuck by Trump. It is not just wrong...it is preposterous.
He needs to stop w/this line. His staff needs to do an intervention. This is not Tip O'Neill sitting down with Reagan (and btw...that too was an illusion on many fronts). One can embrace debate and eschew the low road but still admit there is an institutional problem w/the GOP.
