1. Esther McVey = skeleton slashing benefits
2. Boris Johnson = seemingly charismatic skeleton but will lead people to certain death
3. Michael Gove = skeleton putting in an order with his coke dealer
4. Matt Hancock = skeleton holding the ruins of the NHS
5. Sajid Javid = skeleton pitching an idea for a digitised Irish border
6. Andrea Leadsom = skeleton who thinks having children will make them a better leader
7. Rory Stewart = skeleton who came out of nowhere and is suddenly really loud
8. Dominic Raab = skeleton who just wants you to leave
9. Jeremy Hunt = two-faced skeleton. the Harvey Dent of the leadership race
10. Mark Harper = skeleton who’s just happy to be there

New Dealers. All of these want to re-open the withdrawal agreement about the Irish border.

Gove
Hancock
Harper (who?)
Hunt
Javid
Johnson
Leadsom
McVey
Raab
The two remaining candidates have got different ideas.

Rory Stewart. His idea is to get Theresa May's deal through parliament. That's the realm of stupid he wants to lead the Tories into.
Now there's only one candidate left with anything new to offer.

Sam Gyimah wants a second referendum.

All the rest you can stick in the bin, the reheaters, redealers and repeat offenders.

THREAD: Tory leadership contest

The key dividing line in the Tory leadership contest won't be Leave vs. Remain but deal vs. no-deal.

So we can safely rule out anyone who supported Remain including those that have swung behind no-deal. Say goodbye to Hunt, Javid, Stewart.

There's been lots of speculation that Rudd will back Boris.

But she won't.

The surprise formulation will be a joint Hancock-Rudd ticket, arguing for a generational shift.

They won't succeed. But they will swing behind a pro-deal candidate.

The most credible pro-deal candidate is Gove. No one can question his Brexit credentials as he led the Leave campaign.

It's pointless for him to take a no-deal position as it is crowded territory...& most Tory MPs aren't there.

So Gove stands as the reasonable Brexiter.

So obviously we've had two years of intractable Maybot. And obvs, we're all sick of it. Her "speech" to the nation last week, delivered half an hour late, fell as flat as Boris's leadership bid in 2016. Presumably the Conservative Party will be looking for a new approach? Uh-huh.
