Today may be the last day of testimony before the government rests in the #NXIVMtrial (Pt. 1, #KeithRaniere version), can you believe it?!😯
What an interesting ride it has been.. will have more updates later...

As they finish the last short story in the children's stories anthology, cole is still awake, half heartedly playing with his stuffed giraffe.

Hank sets the book aside, "What's wrong, bud?"

Cole shrugs, "I don't like that book anymore."

Hello from Day 34 and Week 11 of El Chapo's trial.

The end is near! Prosecutors are expected to rest their case today after more testimony from this guy, Isaias Valdez Rios aka Memín.

We could get closing arguments and a verdict within the next week or two.

Hard to see how the defense recovers from the testimony last week by Memín. ICYMI: He described some gruesome torture and murder that El Chapo himself allegedly committed, including burying a man alive. He also said Chapo shot two Zetas members and burned their bodies to ash.

OK, that prologue. It's *NOT* a vision of a better life for Luke. It's a warning from the Force, which has used a dream to slip through Luke's defenses. In both dream and reality, Luke's life is seemingly tranquil but evil is ascendant everywhere else in the galaxy.

Why start there? I wanted to open with Luke and step back in time; to be in Luke's head in a way that would be harder later, when we're exploring Rey's story and he's a mystery she's trying to solve; and to introduce the idea of the Force as almost a character in its own right.

Jimin wouldn’t allow himself to be trapped on his shift for any longer than necessary.

“Go, go,” Taehyung hurried, taking Jimin’s apron to let him slip out from behind the counter more quickly. Jimin decided he could get the grounds out from under his nails at home.

This morning had been absolute hell. Two girls ordered seven drinks, Jimin made them all only for them to say they were supposed to be with almond milk.

‘Oh I’m so sorry,’ was he all he had legally been allowed to say at the time, while his mind had far more colorful ideas.

With Jimin officially clocked out, he slumped on the customer side of the now empty service counter, looking to his friend with tired eyes.

“You wanna grab dinner later?”
“I can’t, remem—?
“Ah, right...”

Jimin’s disappointment vanished as Taehyung suddenly smiled to himself.
