1/n Political social media engagement (frequency) predicts higher political Manichaeism among students at my school. Effects are significant for libs, while the estimates for cons are too uncertain (likely due to there being only 90 in the sample) to make any inferences.
Here are the measurements in question. Important to note that the causal direction is an open question here (though my hunch is that there's a feedback loop such that higher political interest/manichaeism--> greater social media engagement--> still higher Manichaeism)
As in the national samples I've examined, liberal students engaged in political social media activity significantly more frequently than their moderate and conservative peers
