This thread is full of factual errors. This is part of the problem. Someone can write something that is full of errors and it is spread as if it is informed analysis, which leads to more misinformation.
If I really have to, I can go through the whole thread.

Tweet 1: I never argued this was Obama's fault. I even defended Obama admin's actions in different thread.

Tweet 2: It has been repeatedly argued in court that Flores should be read narrowly (including on safe & sanitary)
Tweet 3: The 2017 ruling, which was still based on many actions during the Obama admin, found way more violations than just that.

Tweet 5: Kids were kept for extended periods in 2014, too. That just wasn't the issue in this case.
Tweet 6: Putting aside the issue with taking testimony from imm attorneys, they absolutely did. There was a HRW report that included several such examples.

Tweet 7: Whole point of Flores is it limits how long kids can be held in custody. They use same facilities now as in 14.
Tweet 8: His confidence is misplaced as the 2017 decision clearly cites witness testimony arguing that they were short on those very items.

Tweet 9: Trump admin does not have such a policy. They did have a 0 tolerance policy which ended last year.
8/9 fact-related tweets have factual mistakes based on just a basic scan, but whatever. At least he got his thread in and feels better.
