Very, very hostile town hall for Pete Buttigieg over a police shooting in South Bend. The crowd gets upset and angry when a representative for Al Sharpton is the first to take the mic for questions from the crowd. This thing is teetering on the edge of chaos.

The tension here is also not just a Pete or a cops thing; some audience members have personal beefs which each other, blaming other community members for street violence.
South Bend has a lot of problems, and that’s what you’re seeing today.

Buttigieg is pretty somber and solemn and serious as he explains protocols, procedures, state laws, safety boards... and meanwhile, the crowd is mad as hell because another community member is dead and they suspect the government is not gonna do a damn thing they want it to do.
“This sounds a little LaQuan McDonaldish to me,” a woman tells Pete Buttigieg and the South Bend police chief about the lack of body cam video.
“You might as well just withdraw your name from the presidential race,” the woman sitting next to me murmurs. “His presidential campaign is over... I believe that today ended his campaign.”
“This is the beginning of a conversation that will continue,” Buttigieg tells the crowd.
