Hello from South Bend, IN, where a group of residents have planned to march in protest of the officer-involved shooting of South Bend resident Eric Logan. Mayor Pete Buttigieg is planning to attend.

Pete Buttigieg has arrived, is responding to the demands from protestors marching in South Bend.
“You’re running for president and you want black people to vote for you? That’s not going to happen,” a protester tells Buttigieg

“I’m not asking for your vote,” Buttigieg tells her.

Protesters have asked Pete Buttigieg to sign a petition calling for a DOJ investigation into the officer-involved shooting of Eric Logan, but Buttigieg says it contains language that could be deemed prejudicial. Asked if he’ll be the first to sign a clean petition, he says “Yes.”

South Bend Police Chief Scott Ruszkowski is interrupted by Black Lives Matter protesters, before Eric Logan’s brother asks them to stop shouting, telling them, “I’ve been 100% with this man since day one...We’re gonna ride with this man.”

Mayor Pete Buttigieg and the march have reached the South Bend County City Building— Buttigieg tells those gathered he’ll hold a Town Hall to address concerns from the community this Sunday afternoon in South Bend.

Pete Buttigieg addressed the crowd here in South Bend, announcing a town hall and pledging "I want you to know is that we’re serious about fixing this. We’re not going to make promises we can’t keep...But I will do everything I can if we work together to make improvements."
