Night before last I dreamed I was watching the trailer for an action comedy: Jordan Peele played a black nationalist activist, and Tina Fey was the cop who was assigned to surveil him.
Halfway through the trailer there's a twist: Jordan Peele's character is actually Marcus Garvey, who is, it turns out, immortal, and has been organizing for black liberation under different identities for more than a hundred years.
And now I REALLY want to see this movie.
The Tina Fey character needs a bit of work, but Jordan Peele as Immortal Marcus Garvey in a summer popcorn movie set in present-day New York City is box office gold, I'm pretty sure.

I actually think this is a smart approach. Implementation is everything, of course, but as a framework it’s a good one.
One important piece: They don’t say tweets from people like Trump will get a pass. Instead, there’s a new yellow-light category, which should make them feel like taking action isn’t an all-or-nothing thing.
It may be, actually, that this new policy makes Trump’s most egregious tweets more likely to be taken down, not less.

When you know your opponent is never gonna recant an old bad opinion and never gonna apologize, the debates turn into batting practice.
Debating Biden is like playing poker against someone who never folds a weak hand. Harris was just the first to figure it out.
“Vice President Biden, you said at the last debate that you’ve never praised segregationists, But in 2003 you called Strom Thurmond’s time in the Senate a “gift” to the nation. How do you square those two statements?”

Night before last, my wife (23 years together) told me that at 14 she was raped by a classmate while another classmate looked on.
She named names, gave details. This was the first time she had told anyone because she felt ashamed and did not want to disappoint her family. 1/3
