If your last name is Conway, you should be well aware that someone could lie and lie and do it out of nothing more than cold-blooded calculation.
For instance, Trump accused his 2016 opponent of a crime. He's accused Mueller of a crime. He's going to accuse his 2020 opponent of a crime. And he has an Attorney General who will completely support him in this effort now. He's getting better at this.
Trump's biggest advantage is how he baffles his opponents into abandoning the only tools that can effectively stymie his corruption.
Trump gets that the shadow of accusation and investigation always hurts your opponent.

@AJentleson Another example, Trump's lies about Twitter are just like the right's lies about not being able to say "Merry Christmas" for decades. Same false victimization. But far more useful. Pushing off any limits on the right is essential to his reelection.

People who tell you Trump is suffering from dementia are comforting you, suggesting he's bound to be taken out by a giant rake he steps on.
People who tell you he's cunning are challenging you.

@AJentleson If you ever need a reminder that Trump's racism is strategic, the country that killed a columnist from an US paper and produced most of the 9/11 hijackers wasn't included in the ban -- nor was any country Trump has a business in.
