I cannot forget what I saw at the border. I refuse to. It robs me of sleep and peace of mind. But it pales in comparison to the pain felt by families that have been robbed of their liberty, their rights, and the lives of their babies and loved ones. #CloseTheCamps

While I am not fluent in Spanish, there was no barrier to understanding when I went to the border. We speak the universal languages of pain, of a mother’s love, of justice. These women are not voiceless, but they are cruelly and criminally unheard. Not today.
