So @bakerbotts is doing a client appreciation event (I’m my spouse’s +1) showing for Toy Story 4 today and it’s the best networking session I’ve ever seen. Family friendly, kids everywhere.
Nobody is trying to pitch me anything. Questions are all about @Quinnypiglet instead of what I do for a living.

I should have gone into law instead. My god.
Someone walks up and ruins the streak by handing me a business card.

Wait, why would I need a commercial real estate—“Hi! Our kids are getting along super well, let’s set up a play date!”

After the Google reCAPTCHA hell loop I just experienced:

If you’re using a site that uses reCAPTCHA, find something else to block bots, or I will go significantly out of my way to avoid doing business with you.
If you fail the CAPTCHA enough times, you're clearly an inhuman robot and thus a perfect culture fit for Google.
I mean, for a company that prides itself on being clever, why is it so difficult to determine that I'm a human, using Chrome, to which I'm signed in via MFA, to a corporate account?

Some of you might be aware; I have been on a 4 year quest to build a smarthome. I am using and sometimes hacking existing solutions in most cases. I found some glaring lapses of security and privacy. A thread on @Xiaomi/@XiaomiIndia #security #privacy #iot @internetofshit
First up; my favourite robot which keeps my home clean. The Roborock S55 uses SLAM technology with cameras & sensors to generate a model of the house. It cleans really well & it leaks even better as it doesn't use HTTPS to communicate. It misses its home and keeps calling back!
Next up; one of the cheapest smart cameras in the market. The Xiaomi XiaoFang WiFi camera does 1080p video and costs less than Rs. 1200. I have many around the house for security purposes. It is a great oxymoron as its a security device with no security.

1/ More on Tether/Bitfinex.

The reality in this industry is that banking is *very* hard. When you send money to a crypto exchange, there’s a non-neglible chance it gets stuck.

Thanks to regulator announcements, people are aware of the risks. Even noobs.
2/ Bitfinex isn’t a special case. It’s the norm that banks are hostile to crypto businesses. Because it’s the norm, it was forced to do business with agents it would prefer not to. Many of the more reputable businesses in the space have done business with Crypto Capital.
3/ The aforementioned risks came to bear for Bitfinex and its customers.

When they did, Tether was the natural place to turn. Not only are the same people involved but the interests of both companies are genuinely aligned. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

-everyone in the country should have a regular source of care. -And no one should ever have to choose between a medical expense & any other expense

We travelled the country to understand how best to help accomplish this.

One important thing about Aadhaar or any centralized system,particularly connected to money, which I have not said so far, is how it completely destroys any security by obscurity which we have enjoyed so far. Take the example of mobile OTP.
Aadhaar uses SMS One Time Password (OTP) to secure Aadhaar transactions. But we have seen how process to update mobile for Aadhaar itself is hopeless destroy-the-aadhaar.blogspot.in/2017/12/regist…
It is hopeless in terms of security as well as frustrations experienced by the user. Some of the security risks can be fixed if UIDAI is more transparent about the process, as we have seen in that article. Some frustrations also may reduced if Aadhaar centres more nearby. But...
