Not a surprise. Although Robbins wasn't really chief Brexit negotiator, as we managed to enter negotiations without establishing defined roles. Hopefully that fundamental error won't be repeated.

Good trade negotiators know what their side wants, what the other side wants, puts in place a team to cover the details, knows the politics of both sides so where there are real red lines, is imaginative with solutions, and therefore can get a result for both sides.
