Watching the #LibDemLeadership debate on #Sky with @AdamBoulton

I’ve been undecided as each candidate have particular personal qualities that appeal in different circumstances

I think @EdwardJDavey ‘s experience and breadth of understanding is showing

He more credible on “HOW”

@joswinson brings youth and sometimes warmth, humour and a contemporary feel to the debate.

She deals with the issues of electoral cooperation with Pro EU parties better.

BUT the way she responds on the #IndyRef issue unskilfully.

There is no recognition that there’s a difference in outcome for Scotland if we remain in the EU & if we do not.

If we are unsuccessful in stopping Brexit then Scotland, NI & now, I think Wales are being dragged out against their will and to their detriment

We can’t ignore that

Good question: what would people have worked for you say about you.

This is going to be hugely important if forming a government particular.

I have a sense that @EdwardJDavey is a calmer person in adversity

People who have worked for him DO say he is good to work for.

Interesting that @adamboultonSKY asked her if she is a shouter.

Would he ask a man that question.

That said, there is something about her reaction on #IndyRef issues that makes me think that she can be. She flagged her loyalty

@EdwardJDavey said that maybe he is too forgiving

Given how much forgiveness is going to be needed as we navigate through Brexit issues that is probably a highly desirable quality.

Now the question on #TuitionFees.

#JoSwinson says Clegg was right to apologise as we got it wrong but mentioned the increase bursaries.

@EdwardJDavey also speaks of the bursaries for the poor and for nurses that increased access to University education for the poor without debt burden

Should have applied a graduate tax which is what the Nat Union of Students had recommended.

“We should have listened”. Good.

BOTH say that the biggest difference is made in an investment in early years and that is what they would do.

#JoSwinson says that she would bring appeal to new voters. I can see that she might indeed appeal to a new group. She can be warm and funny and current.

#EdDavey points to his experience, environmental track record and depth of knowledge.

BOTH are warm and convincing when asked if they would work for each other.

Absolutely yes.

I am finding these televised more in depth debates very useful so would like to that #Sky and @adamboultonSKY for making the time for this one.

I think I am coming down on the side of @EdwardJDavey

We are in such a terrible political state I think we will need his steadiness and also his breadth of knowledge and there is something about him that I think will bring out the best in a team of players.

I also worry Jo will alienate the SNP more just when we need cooperation.

I shall watch the #Channel4 #LibDemLeadership debate tonight and will probably vote then.

@EdwardJDavey will get mine if he doesn’t muck up (I’ll be look out for what he has to say about local electorate pacts in areas where one Remain candidate might win but several=none will).
