He was a member of 54TH Massachusetts Infantry, initiated after Emancipation Proclamation, enrollment soared because:
“..they did not want White people to say that they freed Black people, but that Black people freed themselves.”

AG of NYC writes judge for immediate status conference based on conflicting statements about the census from @TheJusticeDept and @realDonaldTrump claiming one court has jurisdiction over the entire Country. Should be noted another court gave an Oct deadline for printing.
For those following these cases @SecretaryRoss has been fighting non-stop and gone through many different litigations, it seems bizarre that DOJ decided to “surrender” considering SCOTUS ruling wasn’t a hard NO, it requested a solidified reason why.

BTW my Mom sends birthday cards and holiday cards to @FLOTUS and @POTUS and they write thank you letters back! What a classy bunch❤️
She also calls the @WhiteHouse once a week to leave a message for @POTUS that he’s doing a great job.
**pro tip: she says it takes about 6-8 weeks for the reply but “IT’S WORTH IT”

California is steadily heading back to its bloody, decade of death legacy, from the late 80’s and it’s going to get worse before its gets better because @GavinNewsom @MayorOfLA @AGBecerra are refusing to address it.
Gang wars, mall shootings, drive-by’s are on the rise not the decline. The only reason the “crime rate” isn’t showing it is because the mayor hides it.

Walker was born to progressive, abolitionist parents in Syracuse, NY. She became an advocate of dress reform—particularly of the right for women to wear a shortened skirt over trousers, an offense for which women could be arrested at that time. 2/
After a 2-year stint as a teacher, she was accepted into Syracuse Medical College—one of the few medical schools to accept women. She graduated w/honors in 1855, at age 23; married classmate Albert Miller; and set up a joint practice w/him. He was unfaithful; they divorced. 3/

Mary Edwards Walker, commonly referred to as Dr. Mary Walker, was an American abolitionist, prohibitionist, prisoner of war and surgeon. She was the only woman to ever receive the Medal of Honor.
Mary Edwards Walker was born in the Town of Oswego, New York, on November 26, 1832, the daughter of Alvah (father) and Vesta (mother) Walker. She was the youngest of seven children.
Alvah and Vesta raised both their son and their daughters in a progressive manner that was revolutionary for the time.
