FACT: Shirley Chisholm’s (nation's first black congresswoman) father was from Guiana, mother from Barbados 🇧🇧. And yet despite this she represented the interest of ALL people — including African Americans who trace their ancestry to the first slaves in the USA 🇺🇸.

#KamalaHarris
Who is an ‘African American’? Definition evolves as USA does

Whether that’s Stokely Carmichael (born in Trinidad), who coined the term ‘Black Power’ during the 1960s civil rights movement, or Malcolm X, whose mother emigrated from Grenada,” Hyppolite says, “they’re all defined as African American.”

@SmithsonianMag A dissimilar history shaped our dissimilar identity, but that dissimilar identity is not finished, Our history for the most part (not always) leans towards inclusiveness - not exclusivity.

Kamal Harris IS a descendent of the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade.

Can #KamalaHarris trace her family heritage to The Atlantic slave trade of the 15th century? Yes.

You know who couldn't do this? Answer: Barrack Obama.

And, yet African Americans refer to Barack Obama as the first African American President.

So, which is it?
Technically speaking, Kamala Harris has deeper roots to the The Atlantic slave trade than Obama.

So, she's culturally closer to African Americans (as far as a shared history) than Obama was.

You can't claim Obama whilst dismissing #KamalaHarris!

Don't take the bait! Essentially, you're making the case against Obama being your first African American president.

And, I suspect that's exactly what some racist would stealthily like for you to do.

Deny you even that.
Can a black man or woman who doesn't trace their ancestory to the 15th century's Trans Atlantic Slave Trade sharein, defend, understand our dissimilar rage, pain, joy brought about by our DISSIMILAR experiences?

The answer: Yes.

Infact, he was too African American for some.
You cannot claim Obama, Colin Powell, Shirley Chisholm, Kerry Washington, or Harry Belafonte,
Missy Elliott, Rihanna (so many others) when it's just convenient to do so.

The choice before you is

1). inclusiveness or
2). exclusiveness.

Same choice given to White Nationalist:
WE can be inclusive - whilst defending our DISSIMILAR story.

We can NEVER allow White Nationalist or "color-blind" leftist to minimize the DISSIMILAR horrors our ancestors experienced, we cannot allow them to minimize the present-day impact of that evil crime -- we cannot let
Miss Daisy minimize 400 years of brutal white-supremacist oppression by pointing and saying "Look over there ni**er, look and see, my newly arrived, fresh off the boat African/Asian immigrants -- with college degrees - f they can do it, why can't you niggers do it? What racism?
We have to defend our DISSIMILAR story, while making a space for those who did not come here on a slave ship. They become a powerful witness to our claims about the ripple effect (especially in hiring) of The Trans Atlantic Slave Trade.

- DACA applicants from predominantly black countries are less likely to be approved than applicants from other countries.

- Although black immigrants constitute only about 7.2 percent of foreign-born noncitizens in the United States, they make up 20 percent of noncitizens facing
deportation on criminal grounds.
"The lesson of these statistics is that black immigrants face problems rooted in structural racism that are similar to those faced by native-born blacks. The elevated status that comes with being a foreign-born black person is not enough to overcome the forces of discrimination."
The long arm of The Trans Atlantic Slave Trade come even for them, too.
