It's not a problem of "Khan's London" anymore than it was a problem of "Boris' London". It is a problem of LONDON. And a failure by successive administrations to prioritise major societal change

@baldnunn @DannyKodicek @Stephsputnik Communities need support. More houses are needed. More police officers are needed and a whole bunch of other things need to happen to. That requires systematic, long term financing and project work by both city and central government.

@baldnunn @DannyKodicek @Stephsputnik The idea that it is SOMEHOW going to be solved by ANY Mayor taking "bold action" - or was PREVENTED from happening due to the same - is fucking puerile WHOEVER makes that argument and whatever the colour of the politics.

@baldnunn @DannyKodicek @Stephsputnik There are good, bold voices in the London Assembly, Parliament and the wider community proposing sensible (and often cross-party) plans to deal with this. And FIXING it will take a decade.

@baldnunn @DannyKodicek @Stephsputnik The sooner everyone making points off knife crime grows the FUCK up and gets on with a long term plan, the better.

That goes for politicians like Cleverly, Labour MP's shouting about Tory austerity, and keyboard heroes throwing around 'Khan's London' tweets.

@baldnunn @DannyKodicek @Stephsputnik This ISN'T a political problem, it's a GENERATIONAL one created because successive generations have seen their side of the social contract laid waste by their elders.

The sooner this is accepted, the quicker we can stop kids dying. In London AND the wider UK at large.
