I know I'm not exactly the livestock farmers' favourite person, but @will_case is right about the tremendous dangers of a no-deal Brexit to UK food standards and farmers' livelihoods. (And the same applies to most sectors): theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
The UK will be trampled in any trade deal with the US. It will not be able to resist Trump's demands that the products of a disgusting US livestock sector (pigs treated with ractopamine, cattle with growth hormones, chlorine-washed chicken) are sold here.
To US food conglomerates, the UK is a tasty morsel waiting to be snapped up. And our deluded ruling party is clamouring for us to be eaten.
PS: I 've heard it said many times that the majority of farmers voted for Brexit. But I have yet to see any hard evidence that this is true.
