Parliament voted that the government has to report on Northern Ireland every two weeks from October 3rd to December 31st.
Until the Northern Ireland executive is up and running again.

There was no chance of the government shutting parliament down anyway, but at least it's written down now.
But there's something far worse, and that's your behaviour on here.

You've grown a victim mentality. Always convincing each other that government is some all powerful force like a emperor who might do anything with the merest wave of a hand, on a whim.

Neither parliament nor government work like that, but your determination to see the world that way and then run screaming around and expect everyone else to run screaming as well . . .

It's embarrassing, besides. This masochistic idea that you are completely powerless, and the government might destroy the country any minute.
And then you see politicians playing up to this twattery, and you just want to get a sick bucket

They're not going to destroy the country, and there's no point running around telling each other crap like that.
It's just posture. And the more you respond to it, the more you encourage them.

They'll lose Radnor over the summer and come back with a majority of 1.

This session of parliament is a dead end. Everything has been voted down. There's nothing new to try. And they can't start again without a Queen's speech, which they wouldn't be able to get through either.

It's a general election now. We know that because there is nothing else left. They've got no majority. They can't repeat anything, and they can't start anew. And now they can't shut parliament either.

Brexit is now going to be decided by the manifestos in a general election.

As ordinary as that.
