One of the saddest parts of this "smokescreen" is that GATT Article 24 has been introduced to the public debate ONLY in a form that's no longer used, "interim".

The focus should be on what GATT Art24 is: the main WTO rule allowing free trade deals in goods/customs unions.

Not on the "interim" variety with its 10-yr limit, no longer used and not necessary for Brexit.

Translation 1 — broadest possible. @JWhittingdale is asking: “To your knowledge, the British government has not so far raised the possibility of ‘a free trade agreement in goods’ in the event of no deal?”

Paragraph 5c only applies to "interim" agreements. They are cumbersome, no longer used & unnecessary even for a standstill while the UK & EU negotiate longer term agreements. Neither @afneil nor @BorisJohnson came off well here

One of the saddest parts of the @Soteriology101 interview of @AndyStanley was their discussion about the existence of evil. They ridiculed the idea that God ordains both the good that occurs in the world and the evil that occurs to be ultimately used for his glory.

Andy said it makes evil be good & good be evil. In other words, if God ordains evil in this world to be allowed for an ultimate good purpose in his plan, it makes the evil act good.

Joseph didn’t view it that way: “you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.”

They proceeded to argue that this makes God responsible for all the evil in the world and becomes a horrible apologetic to a world that is suffering from so much evil. They want to distance God from the evil in this world. So, let’s analyze their conclusion.

1) A few thoughts on governance for decentralized networks:

The network with the "best" underlying tech, but no clearly defined governance process will either (a) become outdated/irrelevant due to inability to coordinate community for upgrades...
2) ...or (b) succumb to centralized decision making in order to remain relevant, causing significant % of users to lose trust and abandon the network for an alternative.

In other words:
governance = maybe don't die
3) The social dynamics involved in a governance process (how and where discourse takes place) are just as important as the rules and thresholds that dictate the outcome.
