Someone who saw an online report of my Keynote @WSoyinkaCentre with the headline “@MBuhari is Ruling A Divided Country” wondered @ my very rare use of the word, ‘rule’ instead of ‘govern’.
My Response: @MBuhari is not Governing Nigeria. He thinks Nigeria a Kingdom and he is King.

Does it appear to any reasonable Nigerian that @NGRPresident @MBuhari cares about what’s going on with his citizens? Is there any sign that the state of our Security, Economy, Human Capital, Physical Capital and Social Cohesion worry the President?
He thinks & acts like a ruler.

For as long as Citizens give the @NGRPresident @MBuhari a Free Pass to “balance in the opulence of the Villa” while delivering the shoddiest type of Governance, be sure he will continue to assume his usual entitlement.
Citizens have a Duty to let him know he is Accountable. ✍🏾

Which kind of Leader reads the latest global report on Poverty and stays as nonplussed as @NGRPresident @MBuhari ?

This scale of extreme poverty destabilizes countries.

Country is in dire straits but you wouldn’t know listening to @MBuhari

How can @NGRPresident ignore the obvious signs that Nigeria & Nigerians are inching daily to the precipice, even if most do so, in blissful ignorance?

The financial state of most of the 36 state governments & even the Federal Government should cause “fire to be in the bones of the @NGRPresident “ to not delay Governance for even 24 hours. But what does he do?
He sits at the @AsoRock carrying on like a king of a wealthy empire.

The @NGRPresident @MBuhari cannot plead ignorance of the inherent dangers of being nonchalant while the country he ‘rules’ declines daily, dropping more and more citizens into Poverty.

That latest report on Poverty should trigger a determination to Govern this country well.

But then again, there are Citizens who applaud and cheer on that, “All is well.... Nigeria has never had it this good”. Court jesters them all.

@MBuhari will of course continue to enjoy his expensive paid-holiday as @NGRPresident until the day Citizens say, “Enough is Enough!”.

When Citizens are ready.

Enough will truly become Enough.
