Ha!

Nigeria breaks one’s heart over and over and over again.

I wish one had the strength to simply give up on you and stop believing.

I wish.
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.

You're here, there's nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart and
My heart will go on and on.

#OurStoryWithNigeria
I woke up this morning very sad.

Saw a young Nigerian here yesterday.

That some of the young ones who had the strongest belief in their country and once returned home are now voting with their feet and fleeing as faraway as possible just breaks my heart over and over again.
A CEO friend told me how in one month, he lost the cream of his young talents. Thirty of his best staff resigned, packed up and left the country. Well paid young people. All. Reason?
“I am doing this for my children. I cannot guarantee them quality of life for a head start”.
Thirty. 30 brilliant minds from just one entity.

In some of Africa’s small countries, to lose thirty skilled people in one fell swoop will shut down their entire capacity.

As I look around me and see the bubbly Tech eco-System powered by young Austrians, I weep for Nigeria.
I used to be able to powerfully argue for *Stay* or *Remain* whenever a young one told me, “Aunty (or Mom) I am relocating”.

It has become harder.
And that just breaks my heart.
It breaks my heart to pieces.
Yes.
Nigeria does break our hearts. ✍🏾
My heart goes out to those of you that remain not because you cannot pack up and leave for places that offer better quality of life.

May grace to succeed find you out in whatever you are toiling to achieve in our Land. 🙏🏾
