I'd been planning to make a joke today asking if the media would relent in attacking Beto for a week if he performed a successful open-heart surgery on stage at the next Democratic debate, but per usual the media was even more grotesquely self-parodic than my joking could capture
Beto has more than once in the last week polled tied or ahead of Buttigieg nationally, but the number of thinkpieces saying Pete must get out of the Democratic primary is {checks notes} zero while the number of such pieces regarding Beto requires a superscript exponent to express
Media hatred of Beto, which is *intensely* personal, will never subside no matter what he does, and will always self-report as objective

It now falls to donors to decide if the Democratic field needs to be winnowed from 24 to 4 candidates *7 months before the first vote is cast*
