A big milestone on the channel today, 20,000 subscribers and all in under 18 months. This blows me away and its just been an amazing ride. But today, I want to thank the people who inspired me, supported me, or people i think need more eyes on their work.
First up is my favourite board game channel, bar none. And that is @BoardAlas. This is the only channel I have notifications set up for.

And while his blend up of in-depth review and surreal comedy might not be for everyone. It is absolutely for me.
@The_Rules_Girl was a huge influence on me when I started the channel. They set the bar really high on what short form content could look like. I'm glad to see them back on their own channel making their own content too.
@quackalope is a newish channel, but one with some of the best video work in the board gaming sphere. His first vids are already some of the most professional looking out there and they can only improve. One to watch in my mind.
Stikma-fations is another channel that heavily influenced me. They do a lot of stop motion in their videos and it made me think that animated stills would work better for the format I wanted. Check them out, its impressive work.

No one has single handily moved the conversation on accessibility in board games like @meeplelikeus has.

Many designers and publishers are now taking accessibility issues into account, largely because of their tireless work. He's the reason my videos have manual subtitles now.
@ProZD For being the biggest board game reviewer on the tube, and for seemingly not getting a lot of respect from board gamers despite that fact. Dude loves his games, give him his due for sharing that love to his wide audience.
@GamingRulesVids Paul wears his heart on his sleeve, and I respect the heck out of him for it. He also does super tight rules videos and is incredibly helpful to a lot of people in this community. Kia Kaha Mister Grogan.
@Rahdo and @WatchItPlayed For being, and i don't mean this unkindly, "the elder statesmen" of the board game community. These two are great role models in an awful lot of ways, and I respect them both greatly.
@VanRyderGames For being the first publisher to see my videos and go "i like this guy, i like the format, i don't care that he's in NZ, I want to send him stuff".

That meant so much at the time and still does, and VRG will always have a favoured spot on the channel.
@CardboardRhino For doing some of the best reviews going today. Another channel that needs a lot more eyeballs on it
@garphillgames and Sam MacDonald. For being my kiwi bros, but also for being a pair of the most genuine people you will ever meet. These guys aren't just good designers, they are good people in every sense of the work. Aroha Nui Sam and Shem.
My Aussie colleagues, who I really should jump over the ditch and meet in person at some point. @StoryBoardGamer @MeepleU and @ellalovesbg

We can't have this northern hemisphere crowd running everything now can we :)
Everyone on patreon who has supported me now, and in the past. The secret sauce on patreon for me is bouncing ideas of people there, and using their passion to improve the channel. Patrons care, and that care can really be harnessed for good.
My squad of people I chat with most of the time, who provide endless hours of fun and frank discussions. @ithayla @Vysetron @unmech @gamesandbourbon @GameMinimalist @beardedrogue @PonchoRebound @factorygames @moregamespls @naylorjames and many others.
The people I play and test games with, most of whom are not on twitter. But here's some of them @DrDoctorman @Cptn_Dr @ConanMcKegg @Publicwrongs @jarratt_gray @krisis
@DanThurot Who does, in my opinion, the best written reviews in the board game genre. While video is my jam, you can't beat a good written review and he does great ones.
And finally, the most important person @bootstheory who is my love, and does all the graphics for the channel. And all the covers. You should really check her videos out too at @opshopromance . Comedic Feminist deconstruction of the romance genre.
And if i didn't mention you. That doesn't mean I wasn't influence by you or value you. This list is already super long. Thanks to each and everyone who's talked to me, been talked at by me, or watched my stuff.

Kia ora rawa atu!
Oops, forgot one. @CardboardHerald for being the first person, and so far only person, to reach out to me to appear on their podcast. Despite all the logistical nightmares of an Alaskan and a Kiwi finding a time to talk.
