I was reluctant to believe that whole Publix story, but then I found out the guy the State Rep was accusing is a lifelong Democrat so the racism part makes sense.
Jokes aside, people (especially in the media and politicians) need to stop running with these outrage stories as soon as they see them. Wait to get some facts.
I was skeptical because she cited a phrase that happened to be in the news recently.

If the State Rep is telling the truth, that man should be publicly shamed. If his version is accurate, he still looks like a jerk, but she should be forced to resign and shamed for inventing a smear of that type.
We also need to have a serious conversation about why certain people invent claims like this that diminish actual bigotry. It's mostly because we reward them for it and refuse to punish those that are exposed as hoaxes.
