As I said on the show today Donald Trump has been racist for years. But while all white nationalists are racist, not all racists are white nationalists. Trump, due to influencers or internal corruption, is migrating past racism to white nationalism (believing America IS white).
That's not meant to be over the top. Folks I interviewed for my book believed via experience that Stephen Miller is a white nationalist. And he and "home of the (white nationalist) al right" Steve Bannon are huge Trump influencers.
The path he's taking is where white nationalists have long wanted all white people to go -- past petty racism, which is bad enough, to a belief that this IS a white (and Christian) country; that European countries are white-Christian. That non-whites need to be docile or leave.
BTW Russia has been pressing that lever hard for years and years -- that Europe must defend itself from non-whites and non-Christians "infiltrating" and "changing" their countries. They fund white nationalist parties and groups like the NRA. Republicans warmed to them pre-Trump.
That's why this is so dangerous. White nationalism is wracking Europe and America. It's helping Russia. And hurting us and our security.
