@PHuenermund To fix ideas, put aside the external validity problem. You and @yudapearl somehow have the false impression I am anti-model. I use explicit economic models all the time explicitly to deal with external validity.
@PHuenermund @yudapearl But let's focus on internal validity -- I want to consider whether there are identification strategies akin to front-door or perhaps more complicated that we could uncover with DAGs that would help us identify internally valid causal effects.
@PHuenermund @yudapearl Why wouldn't the same issues that make front-door problematic (though I agree not obviously useless) be even more present for these other more complex strategies?
