When I tried to pull my old job out of the Facebook partnership in 2017 and 2018 over concerns about Myanmar (and elections all over the world) plus the massive psychographic data scandals, I got laughed at and talked down to. Well, I was fucking right all along.

I have met many people in Tijuana who were deported thanks to what we call a "California roll" or having a brake light out. It's been awful for years but it is hellish now. It is why I spent so many years trying to call attention to what was happening here.
And I mean people with no other record, people who are squeaky clean but for being undocumented. Almost all of them were in the process of working through the immigration system, but the system is backed up by 12-20 years. Some didn't even know they were undocumented.
If you're wondering how that happens: Many young families came to the United States to seek better lives for their babies in the 1980s and felt such great shame at being unable to maneuver our byzantine immigration system that they forged documents for their kids or just never

Seeing what's happening in the Church, it's easy to despair. What can we do?! I've said laity need to hold the hierarchy accountable (keep it up!). But that's useless unless we make our own lives more Christian. The Church is an organism, a Body: that's how it works. Some ideas:
1) Make Mass the center of your life. Contemplate your baptismal priesthood, how you can share in Christ’s offering to the Father that, as it is offered, actually makes all things new. Resolve to be more attentive, more prepared, more thankful, more loving (of God!), each Mass.
2) Start praying the Liturgy of the Hours, the way the Mass is extended throughout the day. Start with the Office of Readings: the texts there make a great meditation, and will keep you in touch with the liturgical year and the saints. The app/website iBreviary makes it easy.

He checks the bathroom but there is no sign of the younger.

Failing to have his call picked up,
he sends a text and starts to feel anxious.

Did Kyungsoo run away?

He opens the closet and finds their bags with their wallets inside. It means the other only has his phone with him.

And he's not answering any calls and texts.

He's seriously getting worried.
If before, he could contact his cousin and ask of his whereabouts, right now he doesn't have anyone to turn to.

Just then the door opens, revealing a drenched Kyungsoo. The younger just stands there, at the doorway with a bashful smile.

"What happened to you? Why are you wet?"
