On Friday night in Atlanta, GA, attorneys from our Voting Rights Project at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law concluded two days of arguments in Curling v. Raffensperger in Federal District Court. @LawyersComm
The @LawyersComm represents a group of plaintiffs fighting for the right of Georgia voters to have fair and secure elections.
We argue that to ensure safe and secure elections, the state of Georgia should change from electronic voting machines to a paper balloting system.
In 2018, all across the state of Georgia, voters saw malfunctioning voting machines, long lines, electronic poll book errors and an extreme undervote in the ballots cast as a result of using electronic voting machines throughout the state.
The state has failed to address the problems with its outdated machines and they should not be used in elections this year or going forward.
We are asking the court to order the state to switch to hand-marked paper ballots.
Now.
