1. Let's talk about the racist British bigots that Donald Trump retweets. He has retweeted Katie Hopkins, who called for a "final solution" to deal with Islamic terrorism & Jayda Fransen, who was repeatedly jailed for hate crimes against Muslims. They are dangerous extremists.
2. Katie Hopkins has previously called refugees & migrants “cockroaches” who were “feral humans” that were “spreading like the norovirus.” Recall that Nazis referred to Jews as “rats”; Some Hutus referred to Tutsis as “cockroaches” in Rwanda. It's deliberate dehumanization.
3. Jayda Fransen of Britain First helped organize "Christian patrols" and "mosque invasions" to intimidate Muslims. She appeared on "Radio Aryan" shortly after their reading of Hitler's Mein Kampf. She recently finished a 36 week sentence in prison for hate crimes.
4. These are the people that the president of the United States has deliberately decided to promote to his millions of followers. It's a strategy. And it's all part of a calculation that dehumanization is good politics. Meanwhile, Republicans continue with their deafening silence
5. Dehumanizing language (which Trump himself uses with terms like "breeding" & "infest" when he talks about black/brown people) paves the way for atrocities, because it primes a segment of the population to think of minorities as sub-human. It's extremely dangerous. It must end.
