One reason the hard Left is growing peeved at Marianne Williamson is that she exposes how vacuous all of the other Democrat candidates are. The rhetoric of Liz Warren, Bernie Sanders, and the rest has no firmer connection to reality than Williamson does.
The socialists all think unicorns can poop out enough money to make their insane schemes work. The difference is that Williamson looks ready to march off into the woods with a lasso and try to catch one.
The few Democrats who still receive signals from Planet Earth are not long for that debate stage. Warren got thunderous applause for telling one of them to stop pestering her about fiscal reality, the limits imposed by the Constitution, and the rights of dissenting Americans.
Beneath all the wacky moonchild language, Williamson is pushing effectively the same emotional left-wing populist line as the others: hot air and daydreams over concrete proposals presented with an honest appraisal of their costs and due respect for dissenting Americans.
The difference is that Democrats usually trick voters by dressing up their will to power as Washington wonkery. Barack Obama, one of the smoothest and most consequential liars in American history, had TONS of "studies" and "expert opinions" to "prove" Obamacare would work.
In the end, none of Obama's paperwork made any more sense than Williamson harnessing the power of crystals to transform sunlight into healing light waves, but it SOUNDED more plausible. It could be packaged and sold on Sunday shows.
All of the Democrats' schemes are gibbering lunacy that dissolves upon contact with logic and reason. The trick is to make it LOOK erudite and fool voters into thinking brilliant analysts have seriously considered all the downsides. Failure is declared UNEXPECTED!!! by the media.
Williamson essentially satirizes what the others are doing by abandoning all pretenses of wonkery and talking about psychic warfare. The other Democrats all intend to make the 2020 election into psychodrama. They're not interested in, or capable of, persuading dissenters.
What they have in mind is a stampede. They think they can discourage and intimidate GOP voters while they drive their own to the polls in a holy crusade. Williamson exposes their strategy and makes it look ridiculous by refusing to tart it up with loads of phony numbers. /end
