No Labour just squeezed 5.28% ...so kept their deposit just...still

An absolute rout.

LDs cannot afford to be complacent . 1.4k majority. #RemainAlliance phew!

BXP didn’t do well. Just over 1 in 10 votes. So that kept the Tory vote up.

LD +14.4%
Tories -9.6%
LAB - 12.4%.
Boris Johnson HAS made an electoral record, however

He’s lost a seat faster than any other Prime Minister

9 days into office

Next closest was Alex Douglas-Home who lost a seat in 19 days

Also the shortest serving PM at just over 10 month

Let’s hope Johnson beats that one too

The government’s working majority in Parliament has just dropped to one.
Firstly a real victory for the Lib Dems. They should have won the seat but it was a big story majority. They’re thrilled.

They now actually have a seat in Wales, something they haven’t had since 2017.

Here's why I think that rather than piling the votes in to Labour or Tories, you should be piling your votes into a *range* of Pro-EU candidates at the next election. I'm going to use my region, the South West and Gibraltar as an example...
The breakdown in 2014 was roughly:

UKIP: 484k (33%)
Tory: 433k (30%)
Labour: 206k (14%)
Green: 166k (11.5%)
Lib Dem: 160k (11%)

There were of course others, but all small numbers and mostly independent so not particularly pertinent as it stands
Now it's super early days to understand exactly what will happen in public opinion nearer election day, but I'm going to...

... WITH A HUGE CAVEAT OF THIS BEING EXTREMELY HYPOTHETICAL ....

Labour point blank refuse to work with other parties to unseat the Tories. Indeed, they target seats that the @LibDems could take from the Tories to suppress their vote. If they cooperated there’s a good chance Corbyn would have won the 2017 GE. Here’s how;
1.Aberconwy; Labour lost by 635, the Lib Dem got 941
2.Bolton West. Labour lost by 936, the Lib Dem got 1,485
3.Broxtowe (Anna Soubry). Labour lost by 863, the Lib Dem got 2,247
4.Calder Valley. Labour lost by 609, the Lib Dem got 1,952
5.Cambourne & Redruth. Labour lost by 1,577. the Lib Dem got 2,979

I've analysed the London local election results a little more...

B&D, Brent, Croydon, Ealing, Enfield, Redbridge and WF - highest number of Lab cllrs ever

Southwark - largest number of Lab cllrs since 1982

Wandsworth and Westminster - highest number of Lab cllrs since 1986
LBHF and RBKC - highest number of Lab cllrs since 1998

Greenwich - second largest number of Lab cllrs since 2002 boundary changes

Barnet - not ideal but Lab has never been the largest party here, still the second highest number of Lab cllrs returned in the borough
Bexley - hard to compare because of boundary changes but Lab share of the vote is best since 1998

Havering - Lab now have 400% more cllrs and UKIP are done

Hillingdon - slightly disappointing but the borough is only good for an airport anyway. The noise must effect voters
