Perhaps I’m wrong here but I’d really like to see people receive this sort of answer more when they ask questions premised in a sort of cowardly ignorance.

I suppose you could say that parts of the statement in the preceding tweet are unknowable, but only within some Descartian theoretical space where only one’s thoughts are knowable and nothing can be known with certainty.

I think O’Rourke’s clearly genuine and profane answer is appropriate, because asking a question that ignores the president’s violent incitement and blatant racism is offensive to our shared reality.
