Just some thoughts:

Violence doesn’t cancel out violence. The left wing shooter doesn’t cancel out the right wing shooter anymore than Antifa cancels out white supremacists. Violence is just violence, period. It’s brainless. It’s cowardly. It’s debasing.

The polarization is only getting worse. With every shooting, the script is rolled out faster and louder. It’s a dumb script. In the case of two shootings in one 24 hour period both sides seemed to flip arguments. This is bizarre. Either the shooters politics matter or they don’t.

We need to find a way to stop anyone from thinking cowards who shoot unarmed people - children FFS!!! - are in any way someone to emulate. I joked earlier that we should reinstate the stocks but... humiliation of killers might be the antidote. Even posthumously. Something.

Regardless, it’s important for both sides to clearly condemn both shootings thoroughly. And the media needs to stop trying to link shooters to Trump as though he approves... don’t they realize there are other Trump nutters who believe them on that? And they’re blatantly lying?

We should all stop linking violent factions to legitimate viewpoints in order to delegitimize the legit viewpoints. It’s having the opposite effect. It’s energizing the violent. Isolate the violent people. Shun them. Discard them. Punish individual bad behavior, not groups.

The right and left need to sever any ties that white supremacists think they have with republicans. Completely.

The right and left need to sever and ties that communists/Antifa has with democrats. Completely.

Discard your trash. Get healthy. Debate ideas. Stop personal attacks.
