Lots of work for the gvt #A370
*Reaching out to Kashmiris. Politicians will play politics, but the population has to be informed about the benefits esp in the face of -ve campaign by pro A370 guys. Role of army which organise Sadbhavna is important as is maintaining peace 1/7
*Removing A370 wasn’t winning a war,but a process to integrate J&K better with India.Words & actions in this regard shouldnt be in a manner that shows Kashmiris in -ve manner or present a triumph or sense of putting them in place. Amit Shah did stress on “gale lagana hai” 2/7
*Although Amit Shah did clarify on A371 & Naga accord, China may use its proxies in NE to fan flames. Assurances will be presented as not credible due to the manner in which A370 was removed. The gvt will have to work hard in this regard 3/7
*Ladakh may demand tribal status or law to prevent outsiders buying land, or laws to preserve the ecology there by restricting access. Ppl in J&K will find that discriminatory as we look to open that region up for investment 4/7
*Pak will look to expand terror war in India. Both in Kashmir in attacks on security forces & use Kashmiris to attack Indian cities. India will have twin challenge to guard against such attacks and also not let any attack turn into anti Kashmir sentiment. 5/7
*What will be the role of NC & PDP? They are opposed to gvt but can they be brought around? When elections are held for the UT of J&K, will they participate? Congress has no option but to contest. 6/7
*International opinion is supportive or indifferent which suits us. We will have to work to keep it that way. Peace and early elections in J&K will help us maintain international support. Pak on the other hand will try to prevent that. 7/7
