This absolutely ridiculous and untrue. In my book I feature dozens of instances of the Founders specifically talking about the natural right of self defense -- and specifically firearms -- as a individual right.
Nearly every political and military leader generation stressed the importance of individual right to bear arms. Blackstone said that the Founders thought it "the primary canon in the nature of law."
An by the way, does anyone really believe that those who push the revisionist collective theory on the 2A would be OK with state militias featuring thousands of people carrying around real-life military-grade weaponry? It's such transparent bs.
