I’m about 5 minutes into #TheFamily on @netflix and I am already extremely creeped out and completely mortified.

This may be a bit premature, but this might actually be integral to understanding evangelical devotion to @realDonaldTrump, and the @GOP as an organization.

One episode down and it’s not getting any better. The implications of this organization on our government and on governments all over the world are astounding. I’m struggling with the sensation of hearing GOP rhetoric being parroted through this massive conspiracy. #TheFamily

One thing is for sure, I have to get my hands on @JeffSharlet’s books.

There is a massive part of me that desperately wants to believe this is fiction, but this feeling of dread deep in my bones says otherwise.

Where have I heard the name Doug Coe before?

There is no doubt that I will be revisiting this series, probably multiple times, to take notes and to pick it apart alongside the books.

I have to know the truths behind this, whatever they may be. If this is vindicated in fact, it is beyond insidious.

I’ve talked to my mother and come to the realization that I have, in fact, met Doug Coe at a church service post- 9/11 set up exclusively for city officials and first responders (my dad is a cop). We (police and families) were personally escorted into the chapel by Coe and then

sat through a bizarre church service, despite the fact that we did not regularly attend church and had never set foot in this particular establishment.

I knew that I’d heard that name and seen that face before. I feel like a I need a shower. I’m horrified.

The evangelical devotion to Trump has been like a stubborn splinter I just couldn’t quite get ahold of. This series finally drags it out into the light and reveals the insidious nature of the insertion of Southern Evangelical Baptist Christianity into our government.

#TheFamily and all of it’s cohorts are a malignant cancer on our democracy whose ultimate goal is that of the insidious Cuckoo Bird; who leaves its progeny in the nest of unsuspecting kin to feed off of and eradicate in the interest of its own survival.

The memory of that church service always struck me as bizarre. I didn’t understand why that man was treated with such reverence, and I never saw or heard of him again.

Now that memory feels akin to finding out a creepy neighbor was actually a serial killer.

Episode 4: we are literally responsible for the worldwide movement towards the discrimination and genocide of the LGBT community.

The people responsible for pulling strings behind the scenes of our government are the same who travel abroad propagating LGBT ostracism.

My tax dollars are literally funding the genocide of the LGBT community worldwide.

This is precisely why we have a mandated separation of church and state.

Everyone affiliated is capable. Every single person.

I’m devastated.

If you had pitched to me the idea of allowing the culpable to narrate their own guilt, I would have thrown it out under the pretext of not giving platforms to evil people whose only aim would be to minimize their own guilt.

I need for a @MuellerSheWrote style breakdown of this organization and its crimes from “Genesis to Revelations” in a leadup to a Nuremberg level prosecution for crimes against humanity, followed by stateside trials for acts of treason against the United States.

I didn’t think anything could have a greater galvanizing effect on my conscience than watching men, women, and children suffer and perish in cages. I thought mass shootings and ICE roundups were the limits of the devastation. I was so hilariously wrong.

It’s incredible the way this institution is structured to benefit such a non- specific group of men. This appeal draws “nice guys finish last” men from all walks of life. Men who both demand dominance and insist upon a victim complex.

The kinds of men who kill a woman

for rejecting them, and then blame their victim for their own indelible rage. That kind of violent misogyny transcends the boundaries of both color and class.

I’m so disgusted at the use of religious doctrine as justification for crimes against humanity championed by this administration. Hearing the words “God’s Man” in relation to @realDonaldTrump might be the most egregious act of blasphemy I’ve ever heard.

The cognitive dissonance for this man who just described at length crimes against humanity, acts of treason, and a mission of utmost secrecy to sit there and say that there is no bad actors or conspiracy is absolutely astounding. Fucking incredible.

That Doug Coe died before he could have been held accountable for what he has done and what has been done at his behest is a disrespect to victims of #TheFamily all over the world.

We have to demand accountability, even if it yields massive consequences for us as a nation.

It’s out there.
